Loving Google’s logo today celebrating Jules Verne

Have you checked out Google’s homepage today yet? In honor of Jules Verne, one of the pioneers of the science fiction literary genre who was born on this day, February 8 1828. Jules Gabriel Verne was a French author from Brittany best known for his novels such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870), A Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864) and Around the World in Eighty Day (1873).

Google has created a great interactive logo as a special tribute to the author letting you submerge a submarine deep below the water’s surface and explore its depths using the level on the right hand side of the logo. I wonder how much time Google have on their hands to be creating this great logo’s. Maybe they have a team who are on hand to plan and create this fun logos. Look out for surprises including a treasure chest, scary sea monster and some corals that are shaped in a way that resembles a certain logo. Try not to get too carried away, although a fun little game to some, I and I’m sure you have work to do!
